Details To recognise local companies who are showing concern for the environment they operate in.

Entry Requirements Must be in Newspaper circulation area.

Criteria Summary Applicants should demonstrate that they understand the environmental implications of the improvements i.e. how the changes made improve the environment. They should take account of the environmental cost of implementation of the project as well as the benefit in assessing the overall improvement. Projects should demonstrate an understanding of sustainability and show that environmental, social and economic factors will have key effect on the long-term success of the business. Demonstration of an understanding of the contribution of the improvements to a long-term strategy will be viewed favourably. The project or initiative must have been completed or reached a meaningful stage within the last twelve months. In considering the specific application, the judges wil also look for evidence of an environmentally responsible approach to the general management of the business. For example Judges will expect the appliacant to have an Environmental Policy.
