To recognize individuals who have made outstanding global contributions to the management and protection of the environment.
Entry Requirements
Nominees can be associated with any field of the environment. A nomination form must be completed for each nominee and include name, professional and home mailing address, present occupational title and institutional affiliation and date of birth. Each nomination must also include the nominee’s curriculum vitae and a 500-word summary of his or her achievements.

Criteria Summary
The nominator must provide:
1.A detailed explanation of the contributions;
2.Explain why each contribution is valuable and effective;
3.Describe how each achievement was accomplished;
4.Mention any significant involvement of others;
5.Provide three referees who can be contacted by the Selection Committee
The Secretariat must receive a letter supporting the nomination from each of the referees by the deadline of 30 April every year
