Criteria Summary Social: how does it benefit the local community? Heritage: how does it protect the cultural, built and natural heritage? How has infrastructure been improved and traditional building methods revived? Management: how do you manage the project in terms of numbers of people and their impacts on waste, energy and water management? Communication: how do you inform visitors and others about the environmental and social implications of their tourism before, during and after their visit? Leadership: what is it that makes your project a role model? What is innovative and environmentally unique about it? Sustainable Tourism: how does it contribute to a better quality of life for everyone now and for future generations? Is there a 'life changing' element for the visitor?
