Details To promote and reward environmental best practice in business.

Entry Requirements Open to businesses that have demonstrated environmental improvements to the quality of their land, buildings and sites. This category covers good design, restoration, reclamation, management, improvements, pollution monitoring and containment or good practice (e.g. maintenance).
Entry Fee None
Criteria Summary Businesses which have improved the environmental quality of their sites, land and buildings. This includes sustainable design and development, restoration, reclamation, pollution monitoring and containment, enhancement or implementing an environmental management system. The judges of the Site management category may pay special attention to any of the following: Quality of design in restoration, construction or development; flexibility and practicality (design, size, space, lifestyle and workstyle, upgrading/conversion, use of materials); resource efficiency and environmental protectionin design or use (e.g. transport, energy or local sourcing of materials or best environmental options in technology); landscaping; ease and level of maintenance; appropriateness and quality of use and access; sensitivity (e.g. sympathy with surroundings - ecology or heritage); litter and waste management and containment; efforts to encourage wildlife; public access or community involvement; security and safety (e.g. crime prevention); efforts to promote distinctiveness; efforts to promote diversity; employee/visitor quality of life; water, air or land quality; site management and monitoring arrangements.
Judges Representatives from: Kent County Council, University of Greenwich, University of Surrey, Princes Trust, Kent Wildlife Trust, English nature, Learning Business Link, Kent Technology Triangle Centre, Givernment Office for the South East, RIBA, Tidy Britain Group, CBI, Kent Rural Community Council.
