Position

Details The European Awards for the Environment are designed to recognise and promote, as an example to others, organisations which make an outstanding contribution to sustainable development. They aim to highlight policies, practices, processes and products from all sectors of business in the European Union which help achieve 'economic and social development without detriment to the environment and natural resources upon the quality of which continued human activity and further development depend'.

Entry Requirements Entrants must have won a national award in their own country that is recognised as a 'feeder' award to the European Awards. Download full information on entering the European Awards for the Environment
Entry Fee nil
Criteria Summary The Product Award for Sustainable Development recognises how the careful design of products and services can promote sustainable consumption and create new business opportunities. The judges will look for a new product or related service that meets consumer needs while using fewer resources and causing less environmental damage over its life-cycle than the nearest existing equivalent. Entries may consist of stand alone products or product-service systems. In either case, credit will be given to those that demonstrate that good design can deliver cost-effective improvements in quality of life for consumers and other stakeholders in society.
