Details To recognise outstanding achievement in the built and natural environment. This is the highest accolade the judges can give a project and is an award that honours the most outstanding contribution to the conservation of a building or structure.

Entry Requirements Projects that have previously either won or been commended in any RICS competition will NOT be eligible for entry. You may enter the same project to more than one category, but must make separate entries for each category entered. Projects, or distinct phases of projects, must have been completed between 1 October 2003 and 30 September 2006. Entries for Sustainability can date from 1 October 1999 to 30 September 2006 if you can provide genuine evidence of ongoing sustainability.
Entry Fee None
Criteria Summary The assessors and judges will take the following points into consideration: The background and history of the project and identification of the consequences that would now exist if the project had not been implemented. The contribution the project has made to its surroundings in terms of its visual appearance and current and future use. Public reaction and benefits to the community. Achievement of value for money in carrying out the scheme, future economic viability and sustainable maintenance costs. The degree of efficiency and forward thinking shown in the use of financial and human resources. The efficiency of the project's management after its completion and its ongoing viability in terms of occupation and use. Other matters which the judges will take into consideration include: Arrangements for access for the disabled. Measures to reduce crime against land or property and their users. Steps to avoid pollution including the ability to reduce the effects of noise. The size or cost of a project will not be the determining factor in any of the categories but value for money and sustainability will be taken into account.
